Governor Rendell and actress Morgan
Fairchild were in Philadelphia to help unveil a new campaign
aimed at getting out the female vote this Fall. That
TV spot is part of a multi-media campaign aimed at women
across Pennsylvania. Governor Rendell believes the time has
come for more women to get involved in politics -- both
voting and running. Morgan urged women to empower
themselves: "You see what you care about, you
see who agrees with you, you register to vote, you go out
and vote for that person." The campaign is run by the
Pennsylvania Commission for Women ... and Executive Director
Leslie Stiles says it is a non-partisan effort. "We're
not promoting any particular policy position or candidate.
We are promoting participation."
(Ann Curry, Tim Russert
and Morgan)
Tim Russert was
one of the kindest, most interesting people
I've had the pleasure of knowing. The world of politics
and the world in general has lost a great soul.
