Fashion House But Can They Sing? Political Background The Graduate

Hi, this is Morgan!

I just wanted to thank all of you who supported my efforts on ďBut Can They Sing?Ē.  Itís meant a lot to me personally to know you were out there pulling for me and voting for me.  Obviously, I would not have made it to the finals without your support.  Itís been a fun time and Iím so excited to have had the opportunity to learn to sing a bit and to grow as a person Ė and hopefully, as an artist.  Thanks for enabling me to hang in there long enough to do that.  I had so much fun rocking out on Heartbreaker!!

Iím very proud of everyone on the show.  All of us worked so hard and made real progress, I think.  Michael and Carmine are both really nice young men, and Iím very proud of both of them!  Obviously, I know Michael a bit better, since we worked up two duets together, and Iím SOOO happy for him!  I know how hard he worked and how much he wanted it.  I hope this will open a lot of doors to other opportunities for him.

Thanks again, and I hope itís been as much fun for you as it has for us!!

Best,

Morgan

They can act, model and even box, but can they sing? That's the question VH1 will ask and answer this fall with the new series But Can They Sing when nine celebrities vie for the chance to prove to America whether they should stick to their day job or tough it out over six weeks to become a pop star.

Actors Morgan Fairchild, Joe Pantaliano, Bai Ling, Antonio Sabato, Jr, Michael Copon, model Kim Alexis, Carmine Gotti, heavyweight champion Larry Holmes and Latin entertainer/journalist Myrka Dellanos have been chosen to compete against one another in this new original series.

Each week, these hopefuls will undergo grueling and intensive training with two prominent vocal coaches and one movement/dance instructor to prepare for their performance in front of a live studio audience at the end of the week.
They'll be singing songs by everyone under the sun, including Madonna, Jessica Simpson, Frank Sinatra, Norah Jones, Nelly and Gavin Degra.

VH1 will then turn the decision over to America, who will have the chance to decide who stays and who goes home.  We encourage all our MorganFairchild.com viewers to tune in each Sunday night, watch Morgan perform and then vote for Morgan!

VH1 will then turn the voting over to America at 11PM* where viewers will have the opportunity to cast their ballots one of three ways:

    Online (http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/but_can_they_sing/series.jhtml

Text messaging, by sending their contestant's number ("01","02", "03", etc.) to 91757. Text message voting is sponsored by Sprint but is open to all carriers/networks.

    Via toll-free phone

With the grand finale of VH1's "So You Think You Can Sing" Sunday (12/3), finalist Morgan Fairchild says that "Oddly enough, people have contacted me about doing a few other things as a result of this show. I don't know if any of it will come through, but it's fun. I've had a lot of fun -- and I've learned how really hard it is to be a good pop singer," she adds. Fairchild, who wowed 'em with her rendition of "You're So Vain" among other performances, says she's turned down other reality shows. This one, however, held the promise of introducing her to a new audience. "I've always thought it was important to reintroduce yourself to a new audience every five years," she says. Hence, she says she took on a goofy bit in the 1985 "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" for scale -- and, of course, the Paul Reubens comedy went on to earn a huge cult following. There were also her famous Old Navy ads, which friends initially advised "weren't glamorous enough for me. I said, 'Do you know what the demographic is for these commercials? Thirteen-year-old boys!'" A similar rationale went into snapping up the offer, in 1994, to play the mother of Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) on a then-not-so-known sitcom called "Friends."  "Because of the character," she notes, "I got to be the hot mom." Smart.
